Plan one story for several channels
Repurposing works best when each version has a clear audience and job.
Choose the central idea
Start with a question, example or story worth explaining. Write the core point in a sentence before deciding on formats. A useful central idea can support a deeper article and a short introduction without repeating the same content word for word.
Give each format a role
A short clip might create interest, a carousel might explain a sequence and a longer page might carry evidence. Adapt the opening, pace and call to action to the setting rather than relying on a crop or a shorter word count alone.
Preserve context
An excerpt should not change the meaning of the original. Check that a quote, claim or example still makes sense when separated from the wider discussion. Get the appropriate permission before repurposing guest contributions or client work.
Plan the workflow
Capture approved source material, identify the smaller assets and decide who reviews them. Use a simple naming and version system so the team can find the correct file. Review which adaptations are useful before expanding the volume.
Put it into practice
- Write one central message.
- Assign a purpose to each format.
- Check context and permissions before reuse.
